Cycle Lane Use on Queens Road

As we're sure you already know, one of the very worst things about cyclists is the fact that they get in the way of your view when you're trying to get out of a T-junction.

That's why we're very pleased that the cycle lanes advance stop boxes for motorists have been provided on Aberdeen's Queens Road. They call them cycle lanes; we think that's to denote their function as lanes that you can enter when you want to see past the oncoming cyclists.

Perfect!

Coincidence?

Here at Aberdeen Cars we love America and All Things American. Yes we do. We've been to Houston and we just love it!

So we're disturbed, very disturbed, by some of the anti-car news which seems to be coming out of America recently.

First, the pedestrianisation sorry 'pedestrianization' of Times Square and other bits of Broadway.

Then we hear of the burgeoning cycle movement in places like Minneapolis and Portland with their high number of segregated bike lanes, municipal bike racks, bike 'boulevards' (huh?) and other stuff we either don't understand or don't want to understand.

But now, and this is the worst, we noticed this on the TV:

Yes, that's Wall Street - the very name synonymous with buccaneering capital - has had one of New Yorks 'pedestrian plazas' imposed upon it over the last few weeks.

And just look what happened!!!!!

Coincidence? We don't think so...

Getting Really Fed Up With "Menace" Cyclists in Aberdeen

We're losing patience with "menace" cyclists in Aberdeen "City and Shire". Our hard-earned road taxes go on building them all this lovely new cycling infrastructure whenever we build a new urban expressway dual carriageway into the heart of our wonderful Northern City.

And do these ungrateful freeloading cyclists use this infrastructure? Do they heck!

Foreign Cycling "Culture"

Pedal-cycle use in foreign cities is a cultural thing. Not the sort of thing that could possibly catch on here, because it has never been embraced by our sort of people.

And as if to demonstrate exactly what we mean by that, just take a look at this barbaric display by the so-called "Mayor" of Vilnius. Which used to be in the Soviet Union. Say no more.

Barbaric. Imagine if someone were to do that to an Aberdeen Car!

New Parking Opportunities on the Lang Stract

An exciting range of new parking opportunities for the hard-pressed drivers of Aberdeen Cars has opened up on the city's Lang Stracht (for those who don't have The Scots tongue - that's a street-name which means "long and straight")

For so long this long straight road which connects the west of the city to the suburbs of Kingswells, Westhill and beyond has been blighted by those dog-in-a-manger mandatory bike lanes (that's the ones with the solid lines which motorists may not enter - despite paying for them via road taxes!) These bike lanes have been "supported" by double-yellow lines, thus robbing us of our right to park in them, and have provided continuous and integrated cycling infrastructure like in abroad. This makes us feel uncomfortable, because we don't like change and we're not used to foreign things.

Before
For those reasons, we're delighted to see that, at the former site of the Cocker's Garden Centre (now developed as housing association homes) the gap in the bike lane and double-yellows which had been the entrance to the garden centre has not yet been annexed by the rabid menacing cylists and their politically correct traffic engineers with their funny foreign ideas.

Because there is no cycle lane at this spot, and becasue there are no double-yellows, this provides an excellent new parking opportunity for the drivers of Aberdeen Cars VW Golf reg. Y300SUF and Honda Civic "Sport" (ooooh!) reg. W89RGB.

Today

We were particularly pleased that the drivers of these Aberdeen Cars chose to park there, because their actions completely destroy the continuous and integrated nature of the cycling infrastructure which had hitherto linked Aberdeen with its western suburbs. Very well done indeed!

PaveParkers of the Week Special!

It's all going on on Queen's Road - Aberdeen's Royal Gateway to the West!

Yes indeed, this week, there are so many PaveParkers to choose from, that we've decided for the first time to issue a special award to a location. That location is the pavement on the north side of the carriageway of Queen's Road, between the junction with Sprinfield Road and the roundabout with Kings Gate. Congratulations to this section of Aberdeen Pavement!

Queen's Road is a very nice area, and so it's of paramount importance that only the right kind of people use this thoroughfare. That's why it's so infuriating that a cycle lane was forced upon the residents and businesses of this upmarket street (we think it was the interfering EU court of so-called "Human Rights" which made the council put it in.) Cyclists on their way to sign on, cyclists on their way to the student protest, cyclists on their way to the needle exchange.

We're sure that all sends a shiver down your spine. But take heart! The drivers of Aberdeen Cars and Vans are on the case to put this right, thank god. Here we see a variety of PaveParkers employing a range of tactics. Let's take them one by one:

Yes, the driver of PaveParkVertising Aberdeen Van SX05DVN has employed our favourite tactic of rendering the bike lane unuseable. This allows us to self righteously and indignantly harumph about cyclists:
"I wish the feckers would cycle on the cycle paths that have been provided for them at a cost of millions!"
And...
"... then these freeloading cyclists don’t use them [cycle lanes], much preferring the ‘sharing’ of pavements with pedestrians!"
And so the trap is sprung on Aberdeen's Queen's Road, for further east, any pavement cyclists, who we have forced to eschew the cycle path which has been provided for them at a cost of millions are confronted with this:

Yes! Aberdeen's own unique weapon which prevents Queens Road look like the DSS-land or studentville that the poor cyclists make it seem - yes Full PaveParking has been employed to stop the cyclists using the pavements. It's genius!

Our congratulations go to the WVM driver of Aberdeen Vans SX05DVN and T536ASO. Congratulations to the driver of Aberdeen Car Chrysler 3.0 V6 CRD "Touring" (oooh!) with cherished plate reg BHS1B and its 3-litre engine. Yes, congratulations to them all three for showing what's really important in Aberdeen: The eradication of pedestrians and cyclists from our pavements and cycle lanes. We will not rest until this has been achieved.

Wrong Way? Huh? www.citysprint.co.uk AF52DDZ

www.citysprint.co.uk

Nothing can stop the brave WVM couriers of Aberdeen "City and Shire" - without doubt they are the new Samurai of the Road! Making up their own rules, they exemplify our certain knowledge that the economic growth embodied in the delivery of stuff is much more important than long-standing road-safety conventions such as one-way streets and no-entry signs.

We have contacted citysprint.co.uk to be sure that the driver of their van AF52DDZ is singled out for the special management attention he deserves.

The Fightback Begins. On Aberdeen's Queen's Road.

Regular readers will remember that last month we reported with fury and disbelief the upswing in recorded users of pedal cycles in Aberdeen "City and Shire". The truth these people avoid recognising is that most people aspire to the convenience of personal motor transport, pay dearly for the privilege, provide much employment, contribute greatly in taxes, and then people like cyclists expect them to ‘leave the car at home’, while their money is spent creating cycle lanes and the like for freeloading cyclists, who then don’t use them, much preferring the ‘sharing’ of pavements with pedestrians.

That's why today, we're very pleased to report that our call to arms has been heeded and that just earlier this morning, our very own rat-like double agent "Codename JannieJumbo" operating, as he does, from behind his deep cover legend as a so-called cycling "activist" left us this video in the dead-letterbox just behind the north east sponsors board on the Haudagain Roundabout.

In the video on this stretch between the Kings Gate roundabout and the Springfield Road junction, we see a variety of the drivers of Aberdeen Cars doing their very best to thwart "Codename JannieJumbo" as he tries to make progress towards the centre of the city on the main western approach from Westhill/Skene. At least two of the drivers of Aberdeen Cars attempt to force him off the road. Many of the drivers encroach upon the newly repainted Queen's Road cycle lane - demonstrating that we simply don't want our road taxes to be spent on so-called cycling infrastructure - so we'll just ignore it and demonstrate that cyclists just aren't wanted here. Also, so that a stop is put to cyclists 'sharing' the pavement, three white vans occupy the it (demonstrating that we don't much care for freeloading pedestrians either) . Pedestrians, cyclists... they're all the same - freeloaders and spongers the lot of them. They are not welcome in Aberdeen. We don't want their kind here. Why don't they just go away?

How nice it is in Aberdeen's west end - salubrious and welcoming to visitors, businesses, holidaymakers and residents all alike, as long as they're in a car or van. We're delighted to offer specific targeted praise to the following drivers of Aberdeen Cars who have helped to make it so:

1) For frightening the cyclist out of his wits with the really close pass - then encroaching the cycle lane - what skill!
Vauxhaul Astra Estate 1.4 Luxury S (oooh!) reg. P277SNM

2) For encroaching on the cycle lane:
Toyota Aygo VVTi reg. NJ60LSC

3) For occupying the cycle lane:
Hyundai Estate 2.2 CRDi "Santa Fe" (oooh!) Auto Premium (oooooh!) reg. G1GOK
The driver of this Aberdeen Car gets a special mention for demonstrating his 'Premium' status. Traffic lights mean very little to this busy individualist. why should he allow petty officialdom stupid rules like red lights stand in his way? He's busy! He's Important! He's 'Premium'! And so he's definately more capable of making up his own mind when it's safe to go or not than some automatic petty traffic control robot (the traffic lights). In any case, traffic lights should be advisory only, like speed limits, or parking restrictions already are in Aberdeen. It's great to see this busy hard-pressed motorist pushing this anti-nanny state agenda in Aberdeen. And all the while discouraging cycling! Brilliant!

Unfortunately we can't make out the plates of the PaveParking White Van Men, but they know who they are, and they get our thumbs up. Particularly the driver of Aberdeen Van "Well Plastered" (hahahah, do you see what they did there?) who deserves praise for PaveParkVertising. Fantastic!

"Codename JannieJumbo" shows us the urban motorway we could have had.

Nestled away at the far end of the west end of Aberdeen is a secret. A green corridor cuts through the heart of Craigiebuckler in a dead straight line from the no 16a bus terminus at Airyhall all the way to Rubislaw Park Road and then Queens Road at Hill of Rubislaw.

If you drew a straight line going west from Queens Road and kept it going straight where today it curves round to the northwest at Angusfield Lane, it would discribe this green corridor. We saw this map online somewhere:

Check it out - the underdeveloped 'green corridor' had been planned as long ago as 1949 to be the route for a thrilling high-speed radial expressway cutting Cragiebuckler in two to link Countesswells Road at Hillhead with Queens Road at Hill of Rubislaw. A huge cloverleaf interchange occupies what is today Robert Gordons College playing fields at Slopefield. And we're pretty sure that the junction with Queens Road would have been an exciting gyratory or something. Maybe even a flyover!

Some people say that these plans are "car-sick" and that they show the pathology inherent in the "centre of the car-crazy 20th century", but we think that these people aren't true Aberdonians. Now that plans are afoot to go ahead with that other long-planned radial expressway for Aberdeen - The Berryden Corridor Improvement Project - maybe the 'powers that be' will get on and build this one next. We think it'll make a lovely addition to the bypass - which is also shown (albeit closer in to Aberdeen) on the 1949 plan. The bypass is going to be a 'special category road'. That's a motorway in all but name. We can't tell you how excited we are about that.

Anyway, an orbital motorway needs high speed radial expressways to usher important consumers to city centre underground shopping destinations, so we see no reason why the "Cragibuckler Green Corridor Expressway Improvements" shouldn't be next on the agenda. You heard it here first!

Our pathetic undercover double agent "Codename Janniejumbo" shows us the route all the way from Slopefield to Bayview Road.

Towards the end of the video, Codename Janniejumbo does his usual great job of pointing out parking opportunities in the cycle-lanes of the west end. But we don't know what he's on about at the very end of the video, though. Something about "close passes"? Hilton.co.uk van RJ10AZA Audi A4 'sport' SV02ZSO Fiesta SW08NPC?

PaveParker of the Week! WVM Citroen Berlingo SK05YXS

Snapped on our very own "Boulevard of the North" - Aberdeen's world famous Union Street - this week's Pave Parker of the week is the WVM driver of Aberdeen Van Citroen Berlingo reg. SK05YXS. Congratulations!

By (1) doing the "double-yellow straddle", (2) parking on the pavement, and - most importantly - (3) blocking the hated cycle lane, the driver of this Aberdeen Van has pulled off "The Triple" on our grand-processional main street. As all good Aberdonians know, Union Street was built in the early 19th century and is suspended above the remains of medieval streets below by arches which make it the world's first (or second?) flyover. Shame we can't repeat that civil engineering triumph elsewhere, for instance at the Haudagain Roundabout - recently voted "the worst thing in the world" by the drivers of Aberdeen Cars - for many of us, the logic of a flyover seems inescapable.

We'd normally e-mail the driver's employees so that he can be singled out for special praise by his bosses. But, in this case, we can't, because, being a proper WVM (albeit in a little white van) there are no company markings or livery to be seen on this white van. So we can't be sure whether he's conducting business at Redline Discount World or the British Heart Foundation charity shop. It can't be the Oddbins he's in, because their business model failed earlier in the spring. Perhaps he's here to erect a "To Let or For Sale" sign.

Flashing the "exempts" in celebration - Yes! It's our PaveParker of the Week!

Separation Principles?

As part of our distasteful work researching what's important to cyclists (I know, but somebody's got to do it), we came across this diagram from some Danish manual on cycle infrastructure:

Now, you can see the trap they've fallen into there. They've actually regarded cycling as something to promote, something to facilitate. And so they've ended up with stuff like this nonsense on Copenhagen Cycle Chic.

If only they'd adopted the UK model, then they could have the proper sort of car-priority infrastucture we enjoyed by the Drivers of Aberdeen Cars.

A Warning from the Capital

We have been passed some photos which show a nightmarish distopian future for the drivers of Aberdeen Cars. These photos were taken over the weekend in London's central Bloomsbury Area and demonstrate just how far the sinister forces of roadspace reallocation have penetrated into the public sphere in the capital.

First - just look at the size of those new pavements! The carriageway has been reduced to a tiny channel in the centre while the pampered pestestrians get all the space! Shocking.

Secondly, and even worse - in this photo an entire lane has been given over to the cyclits for a two-way fully segregated cycle lane in the Dutch style (nearly). Those freeloaders using up important roadspace. In the capital! What sort of example does this set the rest of the country?

The cyclits even get their own traffic lights. We don't know whether to laugh or cry.

We can, however, console ourselves with one thought: This area of central London where the forces of roadspace re-assignment have made such egregious strides onto the tarmac (which is our dearly paid-for right) is Bloomsbury. Home to intellectuals and host to colleges, universities, galleries and/or museums (what's the difference?). Thank Ford that we in Aberdeen are unencumbered by such people or institutions which might impinge on discourse in the public realm. Everyone knows that a city is nothing but the sum of the businesses which operate within it. And everyone knows that the only people who work for those businesses and who create the economic demand which those businesses fulfill are motorists. The authorities in London have made a wrong turn. The truth that they avoid recognising is that most people aspire to the convenience of personal motor transport, pay dearly for the privilege, provide much employment, contribute greatly in taxes, and then people like those so-called intellectuals in Bloomsbury expect them to ‘leave the car at home’, while their money is spent creating cycle lanes and wider pavements and the like for freeloading cyclists and pestestrians.

We must be careful not to repeat their mistake.

PaveParker of the Week! SY59XSM

Ya-hay! It's the PaveParker of the Week!

Yes, this week, the driver of Aberdeen Car VW Golf 1.4 TSI 160 GT (oooooh!) reg. SY59XSM earns the laurels for this display of full PaveParking on Aberdeen's Holburn Street. And yes, you might have noticed, this spot holds a special significance for us: this being the very pavement where we inaugurated the PaveParker of the Week award!

In common with that inaugural PaveParker, this week's winner knows that PaveParking has an important economic benefit in these austerity times. By getting out of the way of other busy important motorists who're busily and importantly going about their lawful business on Her Majesty's highway, the clever PaveParker helps the traffic flow - and as we all know, efficient and swift traffic flow - more cars on more roads - is the only way we can ensure a prosperous future for Aberdeen once the oil runs out in 2017.

Also, by keeping the traffic flowing, it cuts down on pollution. That'll keep the greenies happy too!

Sharp-eyed readers will also notice that the streetscape has changed since the inauguration of the PaveParker of the Week Award. Yes - that big nasty pink cycle lane has appeared. And in these austerity times!

This is part of the push by the forces of darkness to re-allocate road-space away from the already beleaguered motorist, so, in this case, our heroic PaveParker deserves a special mention. Having had her road-space (which she paid for!) re-allocated for use by useless and economically inactive cyclits, she has struck back by unilaterally annexing and re-allocating for use by cars the pavement space usually walked upon by useless and economically inactive pestestrians. Brilliant!

We admire this freebooting attitude and independent action action. It gives us hope that the evil forces of reallocation will not succeed in their push to decommission our heritage Urban Dual Carriageway at Denburn Road. Pampered Cyclists on Aberdeen's Urban Dual Carriageways

We've had about enough of this. Everywhere we look there is evidence that Aberdeen's cyclists are being pampered. Our esteemed local press was right to point out that the cyclists of Aberdeen "City and Shire" are a pampered breed.

And so it continues: this is what we have to put up with, this scandalous use of resources, this waste of road-space, the road space we've paid for.

Pampered cyclists!

All the more worrying is that this Aberdeen's South College Street, our most recently-completed urban dual-carriageway and a key feeder-road to our cause célèbre campaign: the threatened Denburn Road heritage dual carriageway. Which we have formed a pressure group to lobby the powers-that-be to save ('like' us on FaceBook, 'follow' us on Twitter). If cars can't get to the Denburn 'dualler' because of the dog-in-a-manger cyclits getting in our busy important way, then the dark forces of re-assignment might take it away from us.

We cannot let that happen!

Locking in the Benefits. By taking them away?

As part of the work of national importance which we do here at Aberdeen Cars we have been passed the "AWPR - Locking in the Benefits" document which was written by the nimby naysayers at NESTRANS. This made us worry. Worry on behalf of our followers who, like all drivers of Aberdeen Cars, want to "Save the Denburn Dual Carriagway!" ('Like' us on FaceBook, 'follow' us on Twitter.)

Nooooo!

Part of this document relates to the "reallocation" of roadspace away from motorists in favour of buses, trains and bicycles and other measures to discourage the use of cars; improved facilities for cyclists and pedestrians and all sorts of other such airy-fairy nonsense for vegetarians.

As everyone knows, the only way to ensure future prosperity for Aberdeen "City and Shire" is to "go for growth" by putting more cars on more roads, then sit back and watch the economy rip! So, we're scared, yes - terrified - that the underuse of the Denburn Dual Carrageway (which we already identified) will lead to its "reallocation" under the NESTRANS fig-leaf of "Locking in the Benefits" once the Aberdeen bypass is open in 2012. Use it or lose it!

And then there's the "Tunnels Vision for Aberdeen Transport".
"Underground tunnels for buses and trams could be built in Aberdeen as part of plans which would see vehicles banned from three of the city’s busiest streets."
When we first heard about these tunnels we were delighted. But then we saw those words "...vehicles banned from three of the city's streets". They just don't get it, these "men of vision" do they? These proposals for extra futuristic road space shouldn't be "instead of" they should be "as well as". And so, they plan to give with one hand. Motorways, tunnels, relief roads. And take away with another. Road space reallocated to pedestrians, cyclists, trains.

That word "reallocation", frightening. Sounds a bit like "re-education" Mao-style. These war-on-the-motorist lefties are all the same.

New Holburn Street Cycle Lane - a Tribute

"They put in all these cycle lanes and everything for them. And then you never see any cyclists using them!"

We're delighed to report that our secret agent "Codename JannieJumbo" is back on track, reporting pro-motoring content from his deep cover "legend" working as an agent provocateur within the "pro-cycling advocacy community" in Aberdeen.

We were all the more glad of his contribution, because - as were all right-thinking motorists - we were horrified to discover that a new cycle lane has been installed on Aberdeen's historic "Road to the South" - Holburn Street.

Not only are we motorists having to endure the sight of cyclits and pestestrians showing off on the new bridge which connects the Old Deeside Line disused railway path from the western suburbs to the town centre, but we are also now being asked to tolerate them being allocated space on our carriageway!

But, a quick look at JannieJumbo's video settles our fears:

See that? See how the vast majority of motorists just ignore the cycle lane and encroach on it anyway? Delightful! By designing this cycle lane so very badly, the transport authorities in Aberdeen have managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. They are obliged to spend a "ring fenced" budget for "Cycling, Walking and Safer Streets" on this type of infrastructure, much to the frustration of the drivers of Aberdeen Cars. So, by using this budget to install infrastructure so bad that it is dangerous to cyclists, the ring-fenced budget is turned against them and is actually being used to discourage cycling. Subtle. Genius.

So, once again, we applaud the designers of Aberdeen's cycling infrastructure - they have designed it so poorly as to be an actual disincentive to the uptake of cycling as a serious mode of transport (which, of course, it isn't). We admire this type of kung-fu. Turning one's enemy's own weapons against themselves is fantastically skilled, and maintains "plausible deniability". Fantastic!

A Tribute to The Designers of Aberdeen's Cycle Facilities

More video from 'Codename JannieJumbo', our deep-cover double-agent who slithers his sniping and snitching way around the so called 'pro-cycling advocacy movement' in Aberdeen.

This time, JannieJumbo has exposed that source of great rage for the hard-pressed tax-farmed drivers of Aberdeen Cars - yes, dedicated cycling infrastructure.

Now let's be fair to the poor cyclits who, of course, cannot afford nice cars like ours. Apparently there are these things called "Dual Use Paths" which allow the cyclits to actually use the pavements, thus getting them out of the way of the much busier and important tax-paying motorist. Great!

Ah, but these "Dual Use Paths" need these expensive things (which we pay for out of our Road Taxes) called "Toucan Crossings", which the cyclists must use as if they were pestestrians, pushing the button and waiting for the green man. Only in this case they have to wait for a silly-green-man-on-a-bicycle thing.

Yes, as we see in the video, they have to stop, put their feet on the ground, take at least one hand off the handlebar, press the button and wait. And wait. And wait a bit more as the much more important motor-traffic goes past. This reminds the cyclist (who does not work, does not spend, is not economically active) that he is of no consequence. These people (if you can call them people; they do not after all have car insurance or a registration number) simply do not count.

So, we pay a tribute to the designers of Aberdeen's Dedicated Cycling Facilities! Not only do they suppress the cyclits by keeping them in their place - out of our way, off of our roads, and out of our minds. But also these facilites rub their noses in their inferior status by making them wait for us important tax-payers to pass as we speed our way onward to create some more much-needed economic growth! Brilliant!

Off-road Segregated Cycle Facilities

Our undercover agent - Codename JannieJumbo - has been beavering away under deep cover, active within Aberdeen's so-called cycling activist 'community' documenting how our hard-earned road-taxes are being diverted, being spent on high-quality facilities for the tax-dodging cyclits and pestestrians.

In this video which he left for us to pick up in his dead-letterbox drop behind the verdigris smeared pipes in the third cubicle along of the derelict Union Terrace Gardens toilets, he shows that our petrol-tax money is being spent on a pleasant leafy cycletrack which runs past the headquarters of the Total Oil company in Altens.

The provocative irony that petrol-using motorists' tax contributions should be spent on cycling facilities which skirt the campus of one of the great petrol companies is not lost on us. That's probably why they've wisely invested so much on the security measures highlighted in the video - like hard-pressed drivers of Aberdeen Cars, the oilco's themselves feel embattled, put upon, besieged by cyclits and pestestrians.

Still, at least when Codename JannieJumbo arrives at Wellington Road to use the Toucan Crossing he is forced to wait while the significantly more important motor-vehicle users roar busily past on their way to create yet more vital economic growth for Aberdeen "City and Shire". Everyone knows that cyclits and pestestrians are far less important to the local economy than motorists. That's why it is gratifying to us that even their much-vaunted 'cycling and walking infrastructure' hammers home this fundamental point. These people simply do not count.

Cycle Lane Use in Rosemount

They spend all our Road Tax and Petrol Tax on Cycle Lanes and Advance Stop Lines and Toucan Crossings the like, and then you hardly ever see these facilities being used!

It really is regrettable when this happens, but we're pleased to say that the people of Rosemount Viaduct in Aberdeen's cosmopolitan City Centre are making great use of the texturecrete denoted cycle lane which is protected by "At Any Time" parking restriction with double-yellows and everything.

They own bikes, d'you see?

You see, all you need (like the drivers of these Aberdeen Cars) is to own a bicycle (it might be your young daughter's 'Barbie-brand' tiny pink trike with the sparkly streamers flowing from the handlebars which has been sitting at the back of the garage since 2003), and then you can use the Cycle Lane for whatever purpose you please! We think. It's a bit like TV licenses - you buy one TV license and you can have as many TV's in the house as you like. Similarly if you own one bike, you can use the cycling facilities any way you please. Spread the word.

Going Stockholm in the City Centre

We've mentioned in the past that we're getting a bit worried about our deep cover agent "Codename JannieJumbo" who provides us with intelligence from deep within the 'cycling activist fraternity' in Aberdeen "City and Shire". We think he has "turned". To the dark side.

In this latest video which he's provided us with, he's seen speeding through the City on his bicyle much faster than any tax-paying car could manage. In the video, our so-called agent traverses the entirity of the city centre, from Queens Cross to the Castlegate in 5 minutes flat!

We don't think this is fair. The bus/bike lanes should be abolished at once and made available for hard-pressed tax-paying motorists to use. After all, we paid for 'em!
