This video was made by students from a Colorado College ultimate frisbee team on their way to San Diego for a tournament. The shake was recorded in mid-air. This has prompted the FAA to see if any federal regulations were violated, according to the school's newspaper, The Catalyst.
“They are still looking into it, it’s still open,” Tony Molinero, a spokesman for the FAA said this week. “…I don’t know where the [investigators] were told about it, but when they saw the video they just decided to look into it because it is better to be safe than sorry.”
Aviation experts who spoke to the newspaper say it's highly unlikely that any rules were broken, as the video was made when the fasten seatbelt sign was off and passengers were free to move around. The students even got the go-ahead from one of the flight attendants.
But the FAA still has to make sure nothing happened that was against the rules. You see what you've done, Harlem Shake? Another great use of our tax dollars, all thanks to you. Taylor Swift and I hope you go away forever.
