Weekend Motorsports Roundup: March 2-3, 2013

Welcome to the Jalopnik Weekend Motorsports Roundup, where we let you know what's going on in the world of racing, where you can see it, and talk about it all in one convenient place. Where else would you want to spend your weekend?

We're now into March, and that means that the 2013 racing season is finally in full effect. Woo hoo! Those winter dead months were the worst.

This weekend, we have some really great racing on tap. There's NASCAR in Phoenix, Grand-Am in Austin, and Australian V8 Supercars in... um, Australia. That's not on American TV, but it is streaming on their website.

Jet Fighter Style Motorcycle Modified and Paint

Motorcycle nuts ICON Motorsports makes an interesting observation about their Warthog bike, inspired by the USAF's A-10 ground attack fighters, who share the same nickname: "Of course the first thing that grabbed one's attention is the 800-watt MTX audio system." Well, of course, was impressive - but I think the minigun attached to the front of the 'first cycle caught my eye. That, and it's hard to miss that whole thing into nine decal'd with ammunition. But I'm sure that there was a killer audio system, too.
